We also provide prevention and treatment services through Gambling Support BC.
Our vision
A proactive and modern regulator that provides people in B.C. with a responsible gambling environment where integrity, fairness, and public safety are upheld.
Our mission
To safeguard the public by enforcing gambling laws, promoting responsible gambling practices, minimizing gambling-related harm, and ensuring industry compliance and transparency.
History and Background
The IGCO was established in 2026, replacing the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB) as British Columbia’s regulator of gambling and horse racing. It is made up of people dedicated to promoting confidence in the province’s gambling industry for all people in B.C.
The new Gaming Control Act and Regulation creates a more flexible and responsive regulatory model for gambling in British Columbia and addresses recommendations from the German Report “Dirty Money, an Independent Review of Money Laundering in Lower Mainland Casinos Money” and the Commission of Inquiry into Money Laundering in British Columbia.
