The Gambling Support BC (GSBC) program is pleased to share two important initiatives that build on its mandate to provide responsible gambling education, prevention resources, and direct support services to people experiencing harm from gambling. Together, these efforts mark meaningful progress in strengthening supports and responding to the evolving needs of individuals and communities across British Columbia.
Gambling Support BC Indigenous Services
GSBC is happy to announce that the Indigenous-led Gambling Harm Reduction & Community Capacity Building Grant started accepting applications on Monday, June 1, 2026. This marks an important milestone for GSBC and a meaningful step toward supporting Indigenous communities through flexible, culturally grounded approaches to reducing gambling-related harm.
This grant program was made possible through a partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Community Action Initiative. More information including how to apply can be found on the Community Action Initiative website: https://caibc.ca/grants/indigenous-led-gambling-harm-reduction-and-community-capacity-building-grant/
Gambling Support BC Integrated Service Delivery Model
A new integrated, provincewide service delivery model also launched on April 1, 2026, making it faster and easier for people experiencing gambling-related harm to access support when they need it most. The updated model brings together the 24/7 Gambling Support Line and counselling services into one coordinated system through a partnership with TELUS Health, strengthening GSBC’s role as a rapid-access, stabilization and connection point.
